Centerville, UT
The city of Centerville, UT, is located in Davis County, north of Woods Cross along Interstate 15, adjacent to the easternmost part of the Great Salt Lake. Centerville covers a land area of six square miles, home to a population of more than 17,000 people under the motto, “Making Life Better.”
Centerville was settled in 1847 by Mormon pioneer Thomas Grover. The community was originally known as Deuel Settlement, then Cherry Creek, and after a survey in 1850 found the town to be precisely between Farmington and Woods Cross, it took its current name. The Utah Central Railroad soon reached Centerville in 1869. Today, the city encompasses the smaller neighborhoods of Willow Farm Estates and Sunset Heights, while also maintaining one of the most trafficked areas of Davis County, Parrish Lane, established in 1965.
